If you're here trying to figure out if bachata is really for you, you've come to the right place. Here's a quick FAQ for the complete beginner!
Q. What if I have two left feet?
That's what we're here for - for anyone who's never done partner dancing in their life. We show you how to step slowly, half speed to the rhythm of the bongos, and when you've mastered that, the world's your oyster. We believe no-one has two left feet - just potential that needs unleashing!

Q. What if I embarrass myself with my terrible dancing?
We are not the X Factor. We're the friendliest community there is, and no-one is looking at your dancing and judging you. Our beginner classes build you up slowly so that you can soon gain confidence dancing with partners. We were all beginners once!

Q. Am I too old to learn bachata?
Unlike salsa, while it looks fancy, bachata is pretty much walking pace, so if you can walk down the road, you can probably dance bachata. Let us know if you have particular problems with movement and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Q. Do I need a partner? Is it awkward dancing with strangers?
You don't need a partner, as we rotate partners during the class. It may be akward holding your partner in a dance hold or 'embrace' but you will soon get used to it and it will feel natural.
Q. Is bachata too sexual?
Some bachata can look sexual - some performers deliberately make it look that way. We do not teach bachata as a sexual dance - more like something you can do with any family member - even your grandmother! How you dance with your life partner, however, is none of our business :-)
