Here's what you can expect when coming to a Latin Vibes class in Swindon or Bath:
- More Moderna, Less Sensual and BachaZouk.
We are focussed on teaching bachata basics, including Dominican and Moderna, and some Sensual. We don't have a fancy label for this - we call this Bachata. - A mix of technique and sequences.
We want to send our students onto the dance floor with great technique, but also with the ability to lead and follow fun and interesting sequences of moves. You also can't teach technique without sequences, they go hand in hand. In class you will see and learn different sequences of moves, but remember to listen too for the good stuff! Your teachers will go into detail on technique and styling options, to help everyone progress in their dance journey whatever the level.
Private classes will help you go into technique at a level beyond the group classes. - A curriculum
In our second class of the evening we teach a curriculum that lasts 6 months end-to-end, so that our students can refresh themselves on popular moves, but we also take a very active part in the festival scene and bring back new moves to enrich the curriculum, alongside our own development of signature moves. We also take care to adapt our sessions to who's in the class on the day.
If you have just started, you should only attend the beginner classes. You should have a good basic and musicality and a good frame before attending the higher level class. This means you should typically attend the beginner class for a few months before trying the next level class, but everyone learns at a different pace and we respect that. - Inclusive
At Latin Vibes the teachers dance with all the students, in and after class. We are not preoccupied with getting the elites to competition level - we want everyone to learn and have fun.
We also have a great mix of leaders and followers, and anyone can follow or lead. - Friendly and Safe
We put etiquette policies in place, explain etiquette, and act on breaches. You will also find that our community is super friendly and welcoming, and a safe place to learn. - Drop in
We understand that it is tricky to commit to every week or to wait for a course to start before trying bachata. So our classes are suitable for drop in at any time.
